An
woman driver escaped serious injury on Saturday 12 November when
her Mitsubishi Overlander 4x4 clipped the rear of a parked mini
and overturned in Middle Street. The incident occured at 11:00am
and according to eye witnesses the car was not speeding and caught
fire when
it
overturned.
The driver had injuries to her arm and was
in shock but was able to walk. Fire crews attended the scene
and the road was closed for nearly two hours.
The incident highlights the threat of cars
travelling through the village. Freak accident it may be, but
it happened and if the car had been travelling at over the speed
limit the consequences may have been a lot more serious.
