Today is
Criminal damage at Old Orchard

Almost exactly a year on it is with sadness that we are once again reporting criminal damage to young trees at the Old Orchard.

In a spate of activity, seemingly over the weekend, young trees have been broken, fires lit and there was also signs of a vehicle being used next to the river.

Police have been informed and once again they will take extra steps to identify and possibly prosecute the individuals responsible.

Your help is needed and we urge you to help stop this unnecessary vandalism in the Village.

If you know who is responsible please urge them to stop destroying their environment and have consideration for other people in the area.

Alternatively, if you know who these individuals are please contact Lisa Wells at 0845 222 2222.

Vandalism has taken a step up in Brockham, much to the dismay of the community and the people who try to make this a pleasant environment to live and bring up children in.

Damage continues in the area of the Old Orchard and the Bowls Club; spray painted graffiti can now be seen on the bridge at Old School Lane, Dodds Park and on the top of the pill box at the Old Orchard; trees have been broken and burnt, broken beer bottles have been smashed by the River - so if you have animals or small children playing in the area they may well be seriously hurt.

Someone knows who these thoughtless individuals are; someone is the parent of one of those children with a skateboard; someone is their neighbour. Perhaps the owner of this hat shown here has something to do with this anti-social behaviour. Do you recognise it?

It would be better for parents to take matters into their own hands and speak with their children. The alternative is that they will be caught and the consequences will be considerably worse.

Police are getting more information all the time about these events and when caught, these individuals will have criminal records. If you have any information that will put an end to this blight on the village contact Crimestoppers anonymously or contact the editor in full confidence.

This is your village, this is your community - stop the rot now!

Unfortunately youths are still congregating at the bowls club in Brockham, plastic bottles strewn about and fires being lit. Not only is this unsightly but the fires in particular are a potential health hazzard. Skate board ramps have also been erected so therefore we can assume that it is the skate boarders that are causing the problems.

I would like to appeal through your website to the parents mainly in educating their children about the dangers of fire lighting/damage to other peoples property and litter throwing.

I want to try and nip this is the bud before someone gets hurt or the area is damaged beyond repair.

It may be that the people responsible do not realise what they area doing but it is serious and I want to put a stop to it.

Your help in this matter would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Lisa

Individuals causing Criminal Damage will be caught

It saddens me to tell you that yet again ths area has been subject to mindless damage by certain individuals who think that they have the right to tear up new trees planted by Poland Charities. Not only that but they have taken upon themselves to set alight to the trees and parts of the area causing an exteme fire hazzard and danger to others.

If whoever reads this is part of that group whom I am also told takes part in drug taking, best rest assured that both police and local people will no longer tolerate this behaviour and plans are in place to catch those responsible, not only for the damage to the area and peoples property of those living in Nutwood Avenue, but to catch those partaking in drugs.

You are being watched and you have been warned!

If anyone has any further information of which you think may be useful to police then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you.
