There have been a number of thefts of metal
objects and scrap metal from properties in the rural villages
around
Dorking. We are very keen for people to report sightings
of a white Toyota pick up index N620GOR to us immediately
as the persons are wanted for questioning in connection
with thefts in the area.
A white Mondeo was seen at a farm
in Gomshall. It drove in to the yard with 2 males on board.
They claimed that they
were involved in a driving lesson. The Index plate for
the front was loose on the dashboard the rear was attached.
The
index given as L842 TNJ
Criminal damage at Old Orchard
Yet again there has been damage
to trees in the area of the river near to Brockham Bowls
club, thought to have happened
over the weekend of 14th and 15th May. A fire was lit and
snapped branches of the trees were placed onto the fire.
There are also signs of vehicle usage on the grassy area
next to the river and steps will be taken to have the area
fenced off to stop this from happening.
Anyone with information
as to whom is causing this damage is asked to call 0845125
2222 and leave a message for PC2411
Wells. Regular patrols will still be done and anyone
in the area will be stopped and asked to account for their
being
there and arrests may ensue.
Sports and Social Clubs
There have been
7 burglaries over the past few weeks at sports and social
clubs across our area. These offences occur
evenings or overnight. In all cases some attempt has been
made to disable the alarms. Tills and fruit machines are
targeted with coins being taken. We have stepped up patrols
of the clubs but you extra vigilance around these areas
would be appreciated. Again any suspicious activity should
be reported
on 0845 125 2222.

Cycle
for Youth A team of Police Officers, Community
Support Officers and Special Constables from Surrey Police
and British Transport Police, will be cycling from Lands
End
to John O’Groats between 6th May and 9th May 2005.
These
Officers are giving up their own time to cycle 900 miles
in just 3 days!
They aim to ride in 3 teams cycling in 3 hour shifts, in
a relay night and day.
They aim to raise enough funds to supply the Youth Clubs
in Mole Valley with several Minibuses in an effort to improve
facilities for youth in the District.
This is a tough challenge
and involves a great deal of planning and physical effort.
We would be grateful for any support you can offer us.
If you would like to make a donation to this cause,
then please send or deliver donations to:
Cycle for Youth,
Leatherhead Police Station, Kingston Road, Leatherhead

Motor vehicle thefts
As the warm weather
starts there has been an increase in the amount of
theft from motor vehicles in the beauty
spot car
parks. People are reminded not to leave valuables
in their vehicles and not to hide them either as the thieves
may
be watching you.
Equally, burglaries tend to rise during the spring
and summer months with occupants going away.
We can offer
advice on
security. Please call PC Mike Bessent or your
local beat officer for
more information.
If you see anyone
acting suspiciously around premises or vehicles then please
contact
us immediately.

may qualify for £100 mobile phone credit.
Thank you.
