Theft
of scrap seems to be flavour of the month therefore it
would be worth storing scrap metal items safely away if
not in
use. Vehicles possibly linked to this are a blue Ford Transit
van index K120LTR and a white Bedford pick up index N620GDR.
If
you see either of these vehicles in your area please
do not hesitate to report it to us on 0845 125 2222.
Vehicle break-ins
There have been a
number of vehicles that have been broken into in the Mole
Valley area over the last few weeks. The
vehicles, mainly works vans have been attacked overnight.
There are stickers available from Dorking Police station
to display in works vehicles to help deter thefts from occurring.
If you see anyone suspicious in your area, please do not
hesitate to contact us 0845 125 2222.
Stable Watch
We
have had an excellent response to the re-launch of
Stable Watch/ Surrey Action For Equine
scheme in Mole valley. Anyone
wishing to join the scheme can contact Either
PC2411 Lisa Wells or PC3135 Martin Savage on 0845 125 2222
and we will arrange to visit you with a comprehensive welcome
pack.
Saddle Marking Scheme
In addition to
the above we now have the pleasure of informing you
of the Saddle Marking
Scheme. Tack is sometimes found
by police and usually we are unable to identify it. We
now have equipment to mark these valuable and expensive
objects,
which is a unique stamp. The details of the owner and the
unique stamp are then added to our database so if items
are stolen and recovered we can reunite them back with
the rightful
owner. A nominal fee of £5.00 is payable for registration.
Anyone who wishes to know more on the scheme can contact
either PC2411 Lisa Wells or PC3135 Martin Savage on 0845125
2222.
Community Speed Watch
The role out of the Community Speed Watch has been very
successful with members from the community in Brockham and
Boxhill taking part in the scheme. Newdigate will be the
next village to have people using speed cameras in the area.
It
enables community members to get actively involved in helping
us deter and detect crime. Those breaking the speed
limits will in the first instance have their registration
taken and then police will send a warning letter. If there
is a re-occurrence of speeding then police have the power
to issue anti-social nuisance warnings and subsequently
peoples vehicles can be seized if there is still a continuance.
PC771 Ken Wheeler is heading the scheme and can be contacted
on 0845125 2222 should you require more information about
this scheme.
Travellers in Crawley may move to
Mole
Valley
Information has been received that persons
from the travelling fraternity are being evicted from a
site in
the Crawley
area shortly and that they may well head towards the
rural Mole Valley area, in particular Newdigate. If anyone
has
any sightings or suspicions of this in their area then
please contact us as soon as possible.
Thank you.
