Horse Tack and Horse Box Thefts

There have been several Horse tack thefts in the area of late. Anyone who owns horses is urged to secure tack and related items securely. If you require further information on security our Crime reduction officer, PC Bessent, can be contacted on 01306 676823. If you see any suspicious activity then please do not hesitate to contact us on 0845 125 2222 or if it is deemed an emergency dial 999. There has also been a spate of high value horsebox theft.

Increase in theft of power tools

There has been an increase in power tool thefts and building plant thefts, mainly from farms and building sites in the area. Again, security advice can be obtained from us. We can supply information on tracking devices. We also recommend that people mark their property with UV pens, which are available from most hardware stores. Again please report any suspicious activity in these areas on the above numbers.

European Environmental Controls back after featuring in BBC Rogue Traders

We have been receiving complaints about a company called EEC- European Environmental Controls who deal in security and fire prevention and have been calling people on the telephone and making appointments to call whether the persons want it or not. This company has previously been featured on Rogue Traders programme on the BBC and although they initially quote a small price they then charge excessive amounts for additional parts and services though this is legal, the final amount is far in excess of the average security services. You are strongly recommended not to let persons from this company into your home and to decline access to your homes/businesses.

Door to door Salesmen continue to blight the area
The last incident was is Westhumble. He was believed to be using a van with the words “Knock Knock” written on the side of it. Please report any sightings as soon as possible to us of this van. There have been thefts of milk and newspapers from outside the paper shop in Charlwood in the last week. Anyone with information is requested to contact PC Dom Loraine.

Thank you.
