Theft of roofing in Brockham Lane

A blue cab star van was seen to drive into someone’s driveway off Brockham Lane and proceed to steal roofing lead and plumbing bits as the house is currently being worked on. The witness did not see the occupant/s or the registration of the vehicle.

Please be extra vigilant at this time of this type of vehicle- believed a Nissan Cab star and report any suspicious activity soonest via 0845 125 2222.

Vandalism in Nutwood Avenue

An issue has arisen in Nutwood Avenue whereby people whose gardens back on to the footpath that runs from Brockham Green to the Dolphin pub in Betchworth are finding that things are being damaged or stolen from their gardens. The last incident was reported to me on the 20/11/03. An elderly lady from Nutwood Avenue had her trellis pulled down and a brand new wheelbarrow stolen. This has happened to the same person a few times now. I’m told other residents have suffered the same sort of thing. Obviously this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and the offenders could face a criminal record for their mindless actions.

I would like to appeal to all readers for any information you may have which would help us to track down the culprits.
