The
early Easter celebration meant that this annual collection
was completed before Holy Week. The generosity of the residents
exceeded all previous years and a grand total of £937
was raised. For a village community many miles from the sea
such a sum is to be highly commended. We became involved
with the RNLI as we believe that the volunteer crews deserve
the best equipment that is available to enable them to perform
their life saving task.
On behalf of the Institution we wish
to record our thanks for all the collectors who visited
so many houses and to the residents who gave so freely.

Collection 2004
The middle of March weather was kind
to the volunteer collectors who knocked on doors to collect
a grand total of £865 from the residents of Brockham
and Strood Green. On behalf of the Institution and the
volunteer crews, who deserve the best possible equipment
that money can buy, the organisers thank collectors and
the residents who contributed to such a magnificent sum.
If any reader would like to help with
next year's collection, please contact the village organisers.
