The Poland Charity is working hard to improve
the amenities of the village by maintaining the land by the river
and helping the Bowls Club update their facilities.
There are however
a group of people causing damage running into hundreds
of pounds,
the latest being to cut down a number of trees
planted less than two years ago and putting them on a bonfire.
A short while ago, the new bowls green was damaged with equipment
thrown in the river, further damage caused to trees and shrubs
and to an elderly lady’s garden close by.
If
it is you causing the damage then STOP. Trustees
of the charity will
inform the police and seek compensation if it is discovered
who you are. Parents should be aware that information to date
indicates that a group of young people known locally as the 'DRUGGIES'
may be responsible. If it could be someone from your household,
talk
with them and in the unlikely event that they admit responsibility
please point out the error of their ways. If there is a youngster
in your home please talk to them about the stupidity of senseless
damage. Youngsters say the area by the river is being used to
abuse drugs. Those responsible will have muddy footwear!
If you
know who is causing the damage you can tell Crimestoppers
on 0800 555 111 without giving your name or contact WPC Wells at
Dorking Police Station 01306676351.
