and friends who donated so generously and attended the ceremonies.

British Legion Association.

The
President and members of the Brockham and Leigh Branch
of the Royal British
Legion wish to thank most sincerely all local residents who
contributed so generously to the Poppy Appeal 2003 resulting
in a collection
total of £2,861.00p. A special thank you also to all
those who assisted in the collection of this splendid sum.
The
Royal British Legion is the UK’s leading charity providing
welfare support for millions of men and women who have served or
who are serving in HM Armed Forces. In Surrey alone the annual expenditure
on welfare cases was nearly £70,000 in 2002 much of which was
funded by donations to the Poppy Appeal.
In order to continue to support
this very worthwhile cause we are in urgent need of a volunteer
Poppy Appeal Organiser for Brockham
and Leigh to organise and supply the Poppy Sellers. If you are
interested and would like further details please contact the Chairman,
Derek
Holgate on 01737 842654

Chairman
Royal
British Legion needs your help
With
the sad death of Lydia Goldsmith, the Branch is anxious to find
someone, not necessarily a member of the Legion, who is prepared
to be the Poppy Appeal Organiser to cover Brockham and Leigh.
The
Duties require ensuring that poppy sellers receive their trays
in good time before Remembrance Sunday. The Poppy Appeal Organiser
accounts for the money collected and passes it on to the Royal
British Legion Poppy Appeal organisation. Members of the Branch
will be available to help and advise.
